We are seeking an experienced Fractional Chief Data Officer (CDO) to provide executive-level leadership and vision for our data strategy and infrastructure, maximizing our impact and informing our strategic direction.

The Opportunity:

As our Fractional CDO, you will be instrumental in shaping the data strategy and infrastructure at RMH Compass. You will provide strategic guidance, develop a comprehensive data roadmap, implementation oversight and ensure our data assets are leveraged to drive impactful research, policy development, and organizational growth. This is a part-time consulting engagement offering a unique opportunity to contribute your expertise to a growing organization with a vital mission.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Data Leadership & Vision: Develop and champion a long-term data strategy aligned with RMH Compass's organizational objectives and mission. Define the vision for how data can be leveraged to enhance impact, inform strategic decisions, and drive innovation.

  • Data Governance & Architecture Oversight: Establish and oversee a robust data governance framework, ensuring data integrity, security, compliance (including data privacy), and ethical data practices across the organization. Provide guidance on data architecture and infrastructure to support current and future needs.

  • Advanced Analytics & Insights Generation: Lead the development of sophisticated analytical frameworks and methodologies to extract deep insights from our extensive data assets. Guide the organization in identifying key trends, predicting future outcomes, and measuring the impact of our initiatives.

  • Technology & Platform Strategy: Provide strategic direction on the selection, implementation, and optimization of data-related technologies and platforms, including CRM (Salesforce), data visualization tools (Tableau), and survey platforms (Alchemer/Qualtrics). Ensure these tools are aligned with the overall data strategy and organizational needs.

  • Data Culture & Literacy Advancement: Foster a data-informed culture across RMH Compass by promoting data literacy, providing guidance on data interpretation, and advocating for the use of data in decision-making at all levels.

  • External Collaboration & Innovation: Identify and explore opportunities for external data partnerships and collaborations to enhance our research capabilities and impact. Stay abreast of emerging trends and best practices in data science and non-profit data utilization.

  • Performance Measurement & Impact Assessment: Measure key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure organizational performance and the impact of our programs. Ensure data is used effectively to demonstrate our value to stakeholders.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Professional Requirements

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in data leadership roles, with a strong understanding of data strategy, governance, and advanced analytics.

  • Proven ability to develop and implement successful data strategies that align with organizational goals.

  • Deep expertise in data visualization principles and the ability to articulate a strategic vision for data presentation.

  • Extensive experience with CRM platforms (Salesforce preferred), data warehousing concepts, and advanced analytics tools (Tableau preferred).

  • Strong understanding of data privacy regulations and best practices.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, particularly in remote team environments.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Rate range: $150-175/hour
